The first 30 seconds of "Revenge by Fire" convinced me to get the whole album! It is a face-melting blend of speed and black metal, reminiscent of Hellripper! KVAEN is a Swedish solo project much like Hellripper but many known guest musicians helped J. Björnfot in his endeavor. Altogether it is really a solid debut album, I loved the melodies and the pace changes in the second half too, ending with a "calm" instrumental one. Well-done!!

German Melodic Doom / Death Metal. Started with their latestest & slowly but surely got hooked! This is along the lines of Swallow the Sun or Insomnium or Enshine but it is more too & they have their own brand of melancholic agression. Highly recommended!!!

I've been periodically listening to this album for years now, not that often, but, now and then, I always felt the need to browse all the way down through my wishlist and give it another listen. It's very easy to get lost among Fuath's misty and intoxicating melodies. Be careful, you might never find the way back, nor would want to actually look for it.
